There are many options to go to Acapulco and have a great vacation experience, however, if you are planning an Incentive program or a Meeting/Conference, Acapulco has great but very limited options.

I am not saying that Acapulco will not meet your MICE expectations, what I mean is that many hotels can accommodate you and give you the meeting or conference space you need, but, it is just because they want your business! Many of them are not MICE prepared professionally and consequently they do not have the enough infrastructure or facilities.

I have grow up in Acapulco and while I am not living there, I go very often and know perfectly all hotels in Acapulco.

Here is my suggestions:

1. Princess Mundo Imperial

Formerly known as The Acapulco Princess, this venue used to be managed by the Fairmont International Hotels. During that period of time, a perfect policies and procedures where stablished by the management to operate Groups, Meetings and large Conventions. That was in early 1980’s when this 1031 rooms venue create their policies that many of them where used to create and grow the MICE Industry throughout Mexico.

At that time, the average occupancy of the hotel was 90% yearly and believe me, to move that amount of guests, employees, food for everyone there was a challenge.

The hotel has three different buildings and have ballrooms in each building plus a great array of options for open air events that includes a couple of Golf Courses.

The food at this venue is great! The hotel works on the EP plan and sometimes includes breakfast on the rate, which allow the F&B Managers to manage great quality of F&B.

Anecdote of the Princess Mundo Imperial:

  • 1st Hotel in Mexico with over 1000 rooms.
  • 1st Hotel in Mexico with a Presidential Suites & Penthouses
  • Hosted to Adnan Khashoggi and his family who occupied all rooms in 3 full floors.
  • Hosted to Mr. Howard Hughes who spend his lasts days and even die at the Hotel (Not confirmed, but that is said between the employees).
